The NSS Unit of Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Rasyani organised a Yoga Session for the housekeeping staff on June 24, 2025, to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day.
Objectives of the Yoga Session
- To promote physical and mental well-being.
- To provide guidance on meditation and relaxation techniques.
- To enhance mental clarity and concentration.
Session Overview:
The yoga session was conducted with the objective of promoting physical and mental well-being among the housekeeping staff, who play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the college premises. This initiative aimed to familiarise them with the benefits of yoga and provide practical techniques that can be integrated into their daily lives.
The session included:
- Gentle Yoga Poses – to improve flexibility, strengthen muscles, and relieve tension caused by physical work.
- Pranayama Techniques – such as deep breathing and alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) to promote relaxation and enhance energy levels.
- Guided Meditation – to reduce stress, improve focus, and promote mental clarity.
Outcome:
Participants actively engaged in the session and gained valuable insights into yoga practices that can enhance their overall health and productivity. The session was an enriching experience that helped cultivate a culture of wellness and mindfulness within the college community.This initiative was aligned with Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
