April 26, 2021 to May 2, 2021 Donate Blood and Save Life

Youth Red Cross conducted an awareness campaign on Blood Donation Drive taking into consideration the importance of blood donation during this Coronavirus pandemic situation, where there is a less inclination on the part of people to donate blood. At this hour of crisis, one needs to remind oneself the importance of solidarity and generosity. A small gesture like donating blood can make a big difference to the life of people.

As of May 1, 2021 onwards, all citizens who fall under the age group of 18-45 years were to be vaccinated and as per the rule, a vaccinated person cannot donate blood for at least 2 months. This may create a major crisis in blood banks as the majority of blood donors are in the age group of 18-45 years. Thus to avoid this situation, this drive was initiated to urge the citizens to donate blood before getting covid vaccine shot.

In all around 46 people had registered for the donation drive.
