The Faculty of Science (Data Science) of Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Rasayani organized a seminar titled “Start-up: Legal & Ethical Steps” on 14th February 2026 in the AV Room, 8th Floor. The seminar was conducted in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) to create awareness among students about the legal procedures and ethical responsibilities involved in establishing startups.

The resource person for the seminar was Mr. Priyesh Raghavan, Lecturer at Pillai College of Engineering, Panvel, who has experience in guiding students in entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives.

During the session, the speaker explained various legal frameworks required for starting a business, including registration procedures, intellectual property rights, and compliance requirements. He also highlighted the importance of ethical practices, transparency, and responsibility in entrepreneurial ventures.

Students were introduced to concepts such as startup planning, intellectual property protection, legal documentation, and ethical decision-making in business operations. The session also included real-life examples and interactive discussions that helped students understand the challenges faced by startups and the correct legal and ethical approach to overcome them.

The seminar proved to be highly informative and encouraged students to think about innovation, entrepreneurship, and responsible business practices. The interactive question-and-answer session at the end allowed students to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights into the startup ecosystem.

Overall, the seminar was successful in enhancing students’ knowledge about legal compliance and ethical responsibilities required for establishing and managing startups.
