The NSS Unit of Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce took an initiative to teach the village children in their school. The main objective behind this initiative was to give a message that “education does not stop in any situation” because children are the most important part of our society who would make a difference in the future. The volunteers interacted for 1hr with the children and told them about success stories of famous personalities and how to deal with challenges in life. The activity ended with children showing their talents like singing and reciting to the volunteers and giving homework to the children so that the children would practice it themselves. From their enthusiasm volunteers learnt that “education is the movement from darkness to light”.
