As a part of Internal Quality Assurance Cell’s (IQAC) initiative, Career Counselling Cell and Commerce Club in collaboration with National Institute of Securities Markets successfully organized Career Counselling Webinar and Quiz Competition on “Awareness on Career Opportunities in the Securities Markets”.
On 29th October, 2020 the webinar was opened up by Ms. Jueelee Patil; student representative at 2.00 p.m., on behalf of the institution welcoming all. Then the audience was addressed by Mr. S. K. Mohanty, Director, NISM. He gave an overview of the current Indian economic conditions and the prospects in stock market.
It was followed by a session on ‘Awareness on Career Opportunities in the Securities Markets’ by the Resource person Ms Rupali Mhatre. She skilfully introduced the topic with the help of effective power point presentation. She explained all the basic concepts like savings, investment, equity shares, debt securities, derivatives and mutual funds. She introduced the students with the concept of securities markets; types and its role. She created awareness about the promising career opportunities with various examples and also enlightened all with her realistic approach towards career development in this challenging period. She encouraged the students to take up the NISM certification exams and courses so that they have impressive individual profiles. The webinar has provoked huge expectations among the students regarding their future career prospects in securities markets. The session concluded with the Quiz Competition followed by a formal vote of thanks.
