The programmes of IT & CS organized an “Alumni Guidance Session” for the students. Ms. Anita Rajput, an Alumna, enlightened the students on “Career in Computer Networks”. The objective of the programme was to facilitate, consolidate and coordinate Alumni Activities at Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Rasayani on 18th December, 2017. The Alumni arrived by 11.00 a.m. The Alumni Meet started with a welcome address by the alumni association president. The Principal, Dr. Lata Menon, graced the meeting.
The Alumni interacted with the students giving them different perspectives on careers. She also spoke about preparing for higher studies. The types of roles discussed included network support technicians and administrators that support and troubleshoot networks. On the other hand, network engineers take on more challenges and responsibilities, such as implementing and maintaining networks. Other roles like network manager might include overseeing the entire network, personnel, and capacity planning. The last more advanced role is the network architect, which deals with design and testing in advanced and large-scale networks. A simple discussion on topics regarding computer models and their working was also discussed.
Students asked many questions regarding placements and the alumni shared her views. A formal vote of thanks was delivered Ms Nirali Verma, alumni association secretary. She thanked the various organisers. She also thanked the management of Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Rasayani College for their continued support and guidance.
