The NSS volunteers of Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 5th July under the guidance of Programme Officer Ms. Kalavati Upadhyay and Ms. Anita Mhatre. The event aimed to spread awareness about the growing problem of global warming and to encourage sustainable environmental practices.
The programme began with a short address by the Programme Officers, who highlighted the harmful effects of deforestation and the urgent need for tree plantation to combat climate change. Volunteers actively participated in planting saplings along the roadside of the Rees area. More than 100 saplings of different species were planted, ensuring greenery and shade for the area in the coming years.
The event successfully motivated students to take responsibility for protecting the environment and understand their role in reducing global warming. The enthusiasm of the volunteers and the support of the faculty made the event a great success.
