Institutional Social Responsibility and Department of Hospitality, Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce successfully conducted a session on “Food Safety & Nutrition” on 29th September, 2022.

The session conducted in association with IQAC, was very informative and insightful.

The resource person for the session was Chef Priya Prashant. She gave an idea to all how safety is important when handling food items. The session covered steps to be taken to prevent contamination and hazards in the food preparation area. The session was a very interactive with students asking questions on the different aspects of Food Safety & Nutrition. The Speaker elaborated on the steps to be taken to avoid food contamination and how food safety and hygiene can be maintained by Food Handlers. The event was organised for the students of PHCASC, College of Arts, Science & Commerce. The session was interactive and attended by 50 students. The workshop concluded with Question-and-Answer session.

We would like to thank our Principal, Dr. Lata Ma’am for her guidance and motivation in organising the event. We also thank our convener Dr. Archana Bhagwat for her constant support and regular coordination. The overall participation and the enthusiasm in itself spoke the volume of success that this event has met with.
