Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell, PHCASC organised a webinar on, Patent Filing Procedure, on 5th January, 2021 to create awareness on the importance of Patents in the current scenario and to sensitive the procedure of filing a patent.
A total of 35 participants attended the same.
The guest of honour for the said event was introduced by Prof. Remya Madan Gopal
Mr. Jitendra K. Choure, Assistant Controller, Patent & Designs.
Mr. Jitendra K. Choure began by highlighting the importance of filing a patent. He then proceeded to elucidate the objects of patent law, who all can file such a patent application and where such a patent can be filed by the concerned person. Step by step process of filing a patent was explained by the resource person in laymen terms to ensure clarity. The concept of provisional specification and complete specification was explained in detail for the benefit of all the attendees. Mr. Choure explained the role of the power of attorney in filing a patent and the numerous forms that need to be filled to complete the entire procedure. The role of a Cognate application was explained. He then proceeded to explain Post-dating, Pre-grant and Post-grant. He concluded by explaining the review petition, how a said petition can be filed and the specific role of a withdrawal application.
Finally, Sir addressed the queries of all the students in a Q & A session which was followed by the vote of thanks by Dr. Jayanta K. Behera. The feedback link was shared with the attendees.
