The Departments of Information Technology, Computer Science and Data Science organized an extension Outreach program at Raigad Zilla Parishad School in Mohpada, Rasayani, On 28th June, 2022. The program was conducted for students of 7th and 8th grade. Students gave talks on different topics such as “Input and Output devices”, “MS Office”, “Keyboard Shortcut Keys”, and “Internet”. 7 students from classes SY BSc IT, 6 students from SY BSc CS and 3 students from BSc DS for enhancing computer awareness among the school kids.
On behalf of PHCASC, Prof. Anita Mhatre and Prof. Sadiq Shaikh coordinated the programme.
The following topics were introduced to the students:-
- Hardware
- Software
- Input Device
- Output Device
- MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Keyboard shortcuts keys
- Internet
- Quiz
The school students found it very interactive and overwhelming.
The students had following queries:
“Can you tell me what the input and output devices are?”
“I’d like to participate in such programmes in the future.”
At the end, a quiz was conducted for the students thereafter gifts were also distributed to the winners. We also encouraged the kids by asking to speak poems in front of the class. After the quiz chocolates were also given to all the students including the teachers.
We expressed our gratitude to the Principal of Raigad Zilla Parishad School for allowing us to perform such an outreach event in the school.
We thank our Principal, Dr. Lata Menon, for this wonderful opportunity. We are also grateful to our Vice Principal, Prof. Binit Kumar and to all our colleagues for their Cooperation to make the event successful.
